Check out this month's update to Xperience by Kentico. Marketers can look forward to smart drag and drop digital asset uploading and reusable content item cloning for streamlined content creation, content removal and restore to assist content governance, and form validation rules to improve the quality of customer data.
Additionally, everyone is excited about the impact of Xperience's new read-only mode for deployments - zero downtime for website customer experiences!
Speeding up your content creation workflows
Content marketing is an important part of a digital marketer's responsibilities and is often the foundation or at least the starting point of campaign creation and communication to customers.
Xperience by Kentico's blazing fast user interface, multichannel architecture, and support for structured content authoring already helps our customers exceed their time-to-market expectations.
That said, we love making great things even better, so let's review the content marketing updates in our November 2025 Refresh.
Faster asset item authoring with smart drag and drop asset uploads
Our inline content creation UX enables marketers to stay in their current context and workflow when authoring linked content items. It brings the benefit of reusable structured content without the complexity of manually linking that content immediately after creation.
Xperience by Kentico's November Refresh adds the same drag and drop asset upload experience to inline content creation and any other place marketers can create asset content items.
This enhancement supports key content creation scenarios where marketers are thinking about visual content - the Page and Email Builder experiences - without forcing them to jump back to the Content hub.
Of course, the new content creation experience also supports AIRA's image transformation capabilities - focal point detection, auto-tagging, and description generation.
Less context switching, fewer clicks, faster time to market!
Quick content replication with reusable content item cloning
Marketers gained the ability to speed up web page authoring by cloning existing pages almost a year ago. Cloning doesn't mean the new page has identical content - it means the marketer has a great starting point, helping them eliminate blank page syndrome. It also provides a template, improving content consistency.
Today, marketers can get these same benefits from the Content hub where reusable content items can easily be cloned, along with all their existing language variants.
UX update: multi-select in list views
Now that Xperience includes several bulk actions for items in the Content hub - publish, translate using AIRA, move (to a folder or workspace), and move to recycle bin - marketers need an easy way to group items together in the Content hub list.
Although search and filtering can pare down the number of items displayed and the select-all option already exists, something more fine grained would be helpful.
The November Refresh brings the ability to "shift+click" in listing views, so you can quickly select a group of items without having to click the checkbox for each one individually - a small time saver that all marketers will appreciate.
Improved governance with content remove and restore
After you create your seasonal promotion campaign assets - product promotion, banner alert, CTA, hero banner, and landing page - you launch your campaign, schedule it to unpublish in a week, and use customer journeys to confirm customers are able to reach the campaign goal.
The campaign was extremely successful, you sold out of all the extra inventory. Success!
Once the campaign is over you decide to delete the assets because the promotion period is over, all the content was designed for 2025, and the product line isn't going to be renewed. You want to keep your Content hub tidy.
But wait, some additional inventory was found in your warehouse and you want to extend the campaign another week to meet customer demand. Your stomach drops and you start to sweat, thinking about all the work you need to redo to launch the campaign again...
You breathe a sigh of relief when you remember your campaign isn't gone. In Xperience by Kentico you can now restore deleted content with a single click.
Not only are your assets restored, all the connections between them - modeled by Xperience's smart content reuse locator - are restored too. Your campaign is ready to relaunch whenever you want!
Additionally, when you delete that campaign page the second time you select an existing page as the redirect destination. That way your customers land somewhere useful to help them on their journey.
Cleaner customer data with Form Builder validation rules
Content and customer data are two halves that make up the context available to marketers and AIRA in Xperience by Kentico and Xperience is well known for its content management and governance capabilities. Marketers also need tools to keep their customer data well structured and validated.
One of the most common tools for collecting customer data is through forms on web pages, authored in the Form Builder. The data collected is only as good as the guardrails marketers put in place when building their forms.
Xperience now supports built-in validation rules for Form Builder components and also supports custom validation rules for more advanced scenarios.
For example, marketers can mark a field as required and also apply any number of additional validation rules to the field.
Form data validation and customer experience is a constant balancing act - stricter requirements can lead to more form abandonment but guarantee higher quality submissions. Now, marketers have more control over that customer experience decision.
Robust customer experiences with read-only mode for application deployments
Digital marketing technology never stops evolving because customer expectations change as technology itself evolves. Marketers need new ways of communicating their message and proving the effectiveness of that communication.
Xperience by Kentico is perfectly aligned with this mindset of continual evolution through its monthly Refresh update cycle.
However, updates to software have traditionally meant periods of downtime which impacts customer experiences and brand perception. Sometimes that need to minimize downtime as much as possible comes at the cost of new feature adoption or best-practice security hygiene.
With Xperience by Kentico, marketers no longer have to choose between the great features delivered in every Refresh, forward-thinking improvements to their Xperience solution to align with their digital strategy, or service availability for customers.
Read-only mode deployments, now available in Xperience by Kentico SaaS and private cloud deployments, means customer experiences can remain available even while the Xperience application is updated, effectively delivering a zero-downtime DXP!
Marketers will see a splash page when accessing the Xperience administration while the application is in read-only mode, but their web pages, hosted image assets used in emails, and headless channel content, will still be available to customers.
And, thanks to our recent speed-ups of the deployment process for SaaS customers, those updates take far less time than they ever have.
SaaS customers also get the benefit of being automatically updated to support read-only mode. We've documented the recommended deployment process to leverage read-only mode in private cloud deployments.
We hope this feature helps teams iterate and experiment faster with the confidence that technology evolution no longer needs to be a tradeoff between enabling marketers and impacting customers.
Empower AI agents with the content types MCP server
A DXP's content model powers the marketer content management experience and the ability to deliver a consistent message across multiple digital channels, like web, email, and headlessly driven mobile apps.
Content models can be simple or complex depending on an organization's marketing strategy. Software developers are often responsible for designing, implementing, and translating a content model into customer experiences, like web pages.
As AI agents become an even more important tool for software development, including content models in their context makes them even more valuable when building Xperience by Kentico projects.
Now, software developers can use Xperience's new content management API MCP server, delivered as an npm package, which provides agents access to the new content type management API.
The content type management API is currently in preview and only supports retrieving information about content types (create, update, and delete support will be added soon), but it can still provide agents and developers with valuable information.
A key benefit that comes with exposing this information to an agent is developers no longer need to navigate around the Xperience administration UI and content types application to explore and review the content model of an application - all that information is now accessible in their development tools.
Agents can use it to have a better holistic understanding of how content types are related to each other, which gives them better context when creating new widgets, or refactoring existing experiences after a content type update.
We're excited to see what our developer community does with this MCP server and content type management API, particularly when composed with our existing documentation MCP server.
Xperience by Kentico is now a platform that not only supports agentic AI software development, it embraces it.
Faster time to market with SaaS optimized storage backups
Part 3 of our Xperience by Kentico SaaS deployment speed-up is here, improving the speed of Azure Storage data backups using restore points.
You can read about the two improvements in our previous Refresh announcements.
When performing a deployment, we use restore points to create a reference to the most recent "good" state of the application, using various technologies of the underlying infrastructure in Azure.
While these restore points don't guarantee the ability to download assets from that point in time, they do guarantee that we can restore the environment to the state it was in when the restore point was created.
By leveraging restore points, instead of exportable backups, we have significantly sped up the deployment process, especially for environments with large amounts of content and data.
If you need a downloadable backup of your environment, you can always create an export by navigating to Data management > Exports in the Xperience Portal navigation. These take longer to generate than restore points, but give you access to the exact data and files in your Xperience by Kentico SaaS environment.
What's next?
As always, check out our documentation Changelog for the full Refresh feature and technical details.
We hope these new capabilities, features, and API improvements unlock solutions for you. Try them out, let us know 👋 what you think.
For the next Refresh, we have several exciting improvements for marketers and software developers.
.NET 10 support, ensuring applications are secure, future-proof, and ready to scale with improved performance, modern features, and long-term support
